On Wednesday, December 11th we will be having our GVS Christmas Concert right here in the GVS gym. This year, a group of grade 5-8s will participate in a production called “Christmas Carol, Silent Night.” Following this, the program will continue with the grade 7-12 band and choir concert.

Please note that for the afternoon performance, there is no parking in the front parking lot. (There will be pylons blocking the two entrances). Parking will be available on the street and at the EMB Church which is located between us and South Oaks School.

Everyone is welcome. The intermission will allow for time to enter or exit for those that are wishing to attend only the production or the concert.

On September 30th GVS participated in Orange Shirt Day. It is a day to come together in the spirit of hope and reconciliation to honour former residential school students whose families and communities have been impacted by the schools. On Thursday, Sept. 26th, GVS will be participating in the Terry Fox Run. Following the run, GVS Student Council will be hosting a BBQ. The BBQ will take place during the regular lunch hour. In recognition of World Food Day on October 16th, our school has decided to once again participate in the Farm Credit Canada Drive Away Hunger program by collecting donations of food for people who are hungry in our area. Pizza Friday is not going away, but it will look a bit different this year with two major changes taking place. First off, students will no longer place their orders with their homeroom teachers but rather at the canteen as soon as they arrive at school.
