Calendar of Events

  • Feb 8 – There will be a Grad Meeting during Period 3 for Gr 12 students. We will be deciding on valedictorian, grad mural, guest speakers & more. All students should attend and bring your ChromeBook for voting. Meeting Minutes
  • Feb 9 – Term 2 Report cards (final marks)
    •  Grad meeting to decide some speakers 
    • Have baby picture of the graduate in to the school, to be used in ceremony
    • Get copy of birth certificate to the school secretary
    • Book grad picture time with Mr. G
  • Mar 1 – Let Mr. G know your banquet seating guests (4 per family/$35 each)
  • Mar 8 – Grad Portrait Pictures taken at GVS, $35 fee 
  • Apr 19 – Term 3 Report cards
  • May 1 – last day to let Mr. G know your banquet seating requests
  • May 27-30 – ELA provincial exam
  • Jun 7 – Final grad meeting, final details given
    • Grads given invitation
    • Invitations mailed to parents by the school
    • Grad mural must be completed by this date
  • Jun 12 – Math provincial exams
  • June 20 – Any extra banquet tickets will be made available for a cost of $35-$50 each (pay at office)
  • June 19-24 – Final Assessments Semester 2
  • June 25 – Grad rehearsal at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Steinbach
    • Meet at school at 9:00 to get a ride to Steinbach
    • 9:45 am – 12:00 pm.
    • Grad Farewell lunch with high school staff
  • June 26: Come dressed in grad gown or change at church
    • Arrive at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach at or before 2:30 pm for candid pictures
    • Be in cap and gown by 3:00 pm
    • Graduation ceremony begins at 3:30 pm
    • Grad Banquet begins at 5:30 pm

Graduation Day, June 26th

Convocation – 3:30pm @ Emmanuel Church in Steinbach; Grads to arrive by 2:30pm.

  • no tickets required, open to all
  • anyone can attend the ceremony
  • front centre section 12 rows reserved for parents of grads

Banquet – 5:30pm

Parade – TBD (organized by Parent Grad Committee)

After Party – follows parade (organized by Parent Grad Committee)

Graduation Day – Convocation and Banquet

Convocation – 3:30

  • come early; no tickets required, open to all
    • note:  grads, arrive at 2:30 for a class picture at the church

Banquet – 6:00

  • grads can purchase 4 tickets (3 guests and grad)
  • the approximate projected cost is $35.  The actual cost will be determined near the grad date.
  • extra tickets will likely be available after all grads have had the opportunity to purchase their 4 tickets; unfortunately we can’t guarantee everyone sits at the same table

June 25th

After the grad rehearsal, students will return to GVS for their farewell with their grade 12 teachers.  Lunch will be served at 12:00 in the gym.

Mr. Gerbrandt will email bursary or scholarship opportunities directly to potential grads and their parents. The following sites can also be searched for potential scholarships or bursaries:
