Good afternoon to our entire GVS community,
Now that school classes have been indefinitely suspended, our staff at GVS are in the process of compiling the second round of work packages for our students.
Please read the following guidelines and procedures that we have put in place, to make collecting and dropping off work as safe and as efficient as possible.
On behalf of our entire team here at GVS we are wishing our entire school community a very safe, quiet and blessed Easter weekend.
Work Packages for your child(ren) will be available for pick-up at GVS.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN COMING TO THE SCHOOL:
1. The work packages will be located in the gymnasium. Parents/students may only come into the gymnasium through the west door. We kindly ask that only ONE person per household comes into the gym to collect the work package.
2. If a parent/guardian is coming to pick up the work package, please remember your child’s teacher. The packages will be placed by homerooms. To limit the spread of germs, we ask students and parents to only touch the work package (s) with your name on it.
3. Once retrieving your work package, students/parents are asked to immediately leave the gymnasium. We do not want this to be a social outing or a meet and greet with friends or community members. We are honouring and expecting all students and parents to be practicing physical/social distancing when coming into the gymnasium.
4. Work packages will be available at these times:
GRADE 5 STUDENTS- Monday Morning April 20th (10:00-12:00)
GRADE 6 STUDENTS- Monday Afternoon April 20th (1:00-3:00)
GRADE 7 STUDENTS- Tuesday Morning April 21st (10:00-12:00)
GRADE 8 STUDENTS & students Tues. April 21st (1:00-3:00)
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS; The following teachers will have work packages ready for pick-up-
Mr. Tony Donkersloot’s credit recovery students, Mr. Chris Thiessen’s GRADE 10 SCIENCE, and Ms. Katie Martin will have work packages for any students that do not have WiFi access.
****PLEASE NOTE**** IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN IN MULTIPLE GRADES, PLEASE PICK UP ALL WORK ALL ON ONE DAY. WE HAVE SPREAD OUT THE COLLECTION TIMES TO CUT BACK ON THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE COMING IN AND OUT OF THE GYM AT ANY GIVEN TIME. WE KINDLY ASK THAT YOU RESPECT THE DESIGNATED TIMES FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY.
Students/Parents will only have access to the gymnasium. If students need to retrieve other personal belongings etc., that needs to be done on an individual basis by appointment ONLY. Parents may call GVS to set-up a pick-up time. These requests will happen between April 13th-17th between 10:00 am-2:30 pm. Student Work Packages will not be able to be picked up until the following week.
DROP OFF FOR WORK PACKAGES
Once your child has completed their work packages, parents/students can drop off the packages in the clear plastic containers that will be placed outside of the parking lot entrances, (bus loop entrance) at GVS. Parents/students will not have access to GVS. The school will be locked and will only be accessible to GVS staff.
