Orange Shirt Day

On September 30th GVS participated in Orange Shirt Day.  It is a day to come together in the spirit of hope and reconciliation to honour former residential school students whose families and communities have been impacted by the schools.  Leading up to this day we had an assembly to discuss the meaning behind the day and throughout the day students participated in lessons that reflected on the experiences and the impact of the residential schools.  The date was chosen because… Read More

Terry Fox Run

On Thursday, Sept. 26th, GVS will be participating in the Terry Fox Run.  Following the run, GVS Student Council will be hosting a BBQ.  The BBQ will take place during the regular lunch hour.  Cost of the BBQ lunch is:  Combo #1 – $5 for a hotdog, chips, and a drink; Combo #2 includes 2 hotdogs, chips, and a drink.  A portion of the cost from each lunch sold will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.  Students in grades… Read More
