Dear Parents/Caregivers
As announced today, Manitoba public health officials have recommended an extension to the school winter break by two days. Students will resume classes on January 10, 2022. School staff will return on January 6, 2022, for professional learning and to prepare for the continuation of learning in January. View the provincial news release.
This extended break will give public health officials more time to assess the effects of the omicron variant in Manitoba and provide direction on the return to class in January. Extending the break will also allow additional time to distribute rapid antigen tests to families with students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.
The following letter is forwarded to you on behalf of the Minister of Education.

As noted in our correspondence yesterday, we have not yet received the province’s COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits. We will provide a further update when the kits become available.
Respectfully,
Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
